About Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services PIPS (Introduction)
Until the inception of PIPS, Pakistan's Parliament lacked the knowledge that comes from timely, accurate, and reliable information, as well as unbiased, bipartisan analysis on critical national issues. In 2005, the Speakers' Conference of the National and Provincial Legislatures emphasized the urgent need for such a body. The Pakistan Legislative Strengthening Project was selected by the Legislative Development Steering Committee (LDSC) of the National Parliament to support the establishment of the Institute, which is chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly (PLSP).
